Many people with scalp issues turn to medicated shampoos, like we did, only to find they only aggravated the situation. An ingredient you will find in the majority of commercially prepared bath products is Sodium Lauryl Sulfate. This ingredient is used in laboratory testing to purposefully irritate the skin on animals, so scientists can test products to see what relieves the problem! You will find it in shampoos, toothpaste, and most commercial preparations use it for bubble enhancement. In fact, a major manufacturer of natural toothpaste uses this ingredient and even has info on thier website justifying its use! We have a commitment not to use SLS or its derivatives in our products. We have found the right combination of natural and food grade oils can rival SLS in regards to lathering.
I had read about shampoo bars, so considering our family's desire to move away from as many chemical processes as possible, and out of desparation, I decided to come up with a shampoo bar to meet our need.
Our bars are full of oils that have wonderful nutrients like Vitamins A, D, & E, not to mention the wonderful benefits of Fresh Goat Milk. We also use oils that are known for their beneficial skin properties. Those using our shampoo bars for the first time are always surprised at how they are so cleansing, moisturizing, and non irritating. They lather beautifully, and rinse out well. The added benefit is the lack of chemicals!
Many people do not experience hair adjustments when beginning to use the shampoo bars, but sometimes there is a 3-10 day period that a few people may experience. Their hair may need time to adjust to the new formula if they have previously used commercial hair preparations. We call this the "Detox" period. This may consist of less manageable hair, but it will pass in a day or two. Then you will find your hair is much healthier, exhibits more shine, and feels softer.
Instructions for use: Rub bar directly on scalp until you work up a lather. Set bar aside and then scrub head and hair like you would do with regular bottled shampoo. Rinse out completely.
Care for your bar: Keep bar out of water when not in use. A wire drainage rack works best for storing both shampoo and soap bars and will increase the longevity of your product! Shampoo bars are a large, chunky minimum net wt. 5+oz . $5.25 each |
