We have long wanted to retain a buck out of Bea.  Bea is the backbone of our herd and will have a lasting impression for years to come.  There are so many things we like about her and have wanted to incorporate. Bea is advancing in age and has been so prolific with doe kids, that when Hotty was born and we saw him, we felt this breeding was just the one from which to retain a buck.

Hotty is such a big fella! At 4 months old he is the size of some of our yearlings.  In our picture you can see he is in rut; in July!  We think he was born that way as he possessed a buck attitude from the very beginning, hence the name Hotty (We played off of Haughty).  He is very stylish, eye catching, and uphill.  He excels in strength, width and dairy character.  He has tight shoulders with excellent ribbing being extremely well sprung, and flat boned with loose pliable skin combined with wonderful depth of body.  His rear leg set has beautiful width between the hocks, while also standing square on strong feet and legs.  He has excellent leg curvature when viewed from the side, with straight forelegs that track dead on.   Athough Bea's udder has larger teats than we would like, she has never thrown them on her daughter's mammaries as you can see by her progeny's pictures.  After viewing Bea's consistency over the years in passing on outstanding genotype traits, we felt it is time we incorporated that into the herd.

There is not a single thing we would change about this buck.  We are looking forward to seeing his daughters in the future!
